Fernley Resident Spearheads Effort to Bring Street Lights to Sage Road and Highway 95A

New lights have been installed at the intersection of Sage Road and Highway 95A.  Fernley residents have expressed the need for light at that intersection for several years, however, because highway 95A is a state highway, the City was unable to install these lights.

Determined to see this project through, local resident, Mrs. Peggy Gray, reached out to the City to ask how she could help see this project come to fruition.  Mrs. Gray contacted City staff and attended multiple City Council meetings to address her safety concerns with this intersection.  Mrs. Gray was willing to reach out to NDOT on her own accord to initiate the project.  The City would like to recognize Mrs. Gray’s efforts, as she spearheaded this project, contacting the Director of NDOT to get this project completed.

Mrs. Gray’s efforts and diligent communication to bring lights to the intersection of Sage and Highway 95A are a wonderful example of collaboration between residents, city government and the Nevada Department of Transportation.
