Sworn in to Office on August 5, 2009 Welcome As Mayor of the City of Fernley, it is my pleasure to welcome you to Fernley. Located in Lyon County just 32 miles east of Reno, we are at the junction point of three highways. With major arterials as borders, it is evident that Fernley is one of the most accessible communities in the Northern Nevada region and is well positioned to capture the opportunities that abound due to our accessibility.   What is it that makes Fernley so special? Try these opportunities on for size:   History - whether it be the Historic Newlands Project, the Wig Wam Restaurant and Native American Museum, the Fernley Raceway or nearby Lakes Lahontan and Pyramid, those in the spirit or rich history know that Fernley is the place to visit. (north & south) terminates here in Fernley and therefore provides quick and easy access to Interstate 80 (east and west) and Highway 50 (east and west) to access central Nevada. Fernley is literally in the heart of all the activities and excitement that is abundant in Northern Nevada.
