Beginning April 7th, the Fernley City Council Chambers will re-open to members and residents for council meetings. As a reminder, Council meetings are the first and third Wednesday of every month at 5:00 pm. The re-opening of the Chambers is also in time for the very important City’s Budget Workshop meetings, which are scheduled this week Thursday, April 8th and Friday, April 9th, if needed.
During the chamber closure the City remodeled the chambers to install plexiglass dividers, reconfigured the dais to assure socially distance compliancy, and improved the audio and visual components of the meeting room. Council meeting attendees must wear face coverings, practice social distancing, and temperatures will be taken upon entrance of City Hall. A limit of 79 people will be allowed inside the chamber at a time to comply with the state’s 50% capacity directive from Governor Sisolak.
Residents who do not wan
t to attend the Council meetings in-person but would like to view or listen to the meetings, can still log into the meetings by Zoom. You can find the zoom link information on the posted agenda found on the City’s website. Questions and comments to City Council can still be emailed to cityclerk@cityoffernley.org.
Please note, safety protocols for in-person attendance may change over time for future meetings.
