In an effort to address the Reader Board display quality, the City set aside COVID-19 CARES Act Funding to replace the display board to increase the board's clarity and allow staff to access the board remotely. The reader board was originally installed in 2014 by the Depot off Main Street and is a tool the City uses to communicate to the citizens of Fernley. The replacement of the display board increased the clarity to a 10mm LED color digital display, from a 20mm; include automatic local weather, emergency, and Amber Alerts; and, will have cellular communication for remote content management. The total project amount was $49,189.
