 The Sierra Arts Foundation and City of Fernley is excited to get started on the Fernley Mural Festival project. We begin with the Call to Artists! Please help the City spread the word. 


 

CALL TO ARTISTS - FERNLEY MURAL FESTIVAL

 

Name of Venue or Event: Fernley Murals, Music and Margarita Festival

 

Work MediaWe are looking for artists to paint murals during the Mural Festival, May 19-21, 2022. We are interested in showcasing a variety of stories, styles and backgrounds. Our

primary considerations are skill, execution, experience, timeliness, capability, style, diversity, individuality and context.

 

Work Size: Walls will range from 5 ’x 5’ to 80’ x 20’. 

 

Compensation: Compensation will vary depending on the wall assigned.  

SAMPLE REQUIREMENTS 

  • Three to five digital images, JPEG format, with dimensions.
  • Artist Resume 
  • Biography
  • Exhibition list - Murals and/or Galleries

 

Timeline: Artist must be able to be in Fernley, NV on May 19, 9 a.m. -  May 22, or completion of mural. 

 

Entries Due: Nov. 30, 2021 5 p.m.

 

Notification to artist: Artists will be notified by Dec. 30, 2021. Artists who are selected will be given artistic freedom to create what they want in conversation with Sierra Arts Foundation and building/business owners. A mock-up will need to be approved before painting begins. No gratuitous violence, racism, or outright offensive content is permitted.
