INNOVATION AWARD WINNER … The Nevada League of Cities Innovation Award Committee selected the City of Fernley as the winner of the 2007 Nevada League of Cities Innovation Award for small cities.
The Innovation Award is intended to honor municipal programs that provide an innovative solution to standard municipal problems in a manner that can be duplicated in other cities.
Fernley’s nomination package, which was prepared by the City Manager’s Office, highlighted the City’s Community Engagement program which provides an innovative solution to the problem of providing city information to and engaging citizens in our government.
City Manager, Gary Bacock said, “We received word that the City has won the 2007 Innovation in Governance Award on Saturday evening. We are extremely pleased that the city was selected.”
The official award will be presented to the City by the Nevada League of Cities in October during a regular Council meeting.
