Now through September the local artist Laura DeSimone and Jim Berryman-Shafer photgraphs will be featured in the halls of City Hall Chambers.
Laura DeSimone, an award winning photographer, is a native Nevadan and was born and raised in Northern Nevada. She is currently a National Board Certified teacher in the Washoe County School District. Laura spends much of her free time with a camera in her hands, photographing sports, people, and landscapes. When she is not teaching or working with her camera, she is riding her bike or working in her garden. Laura is looking for ward to retirement when she can photograph more, ride more, garden more, and play more!
Jim Berryman-Shafer, an award winning photographer, has lived in Northern Nevada for over 25 years. He recently retired after working in the Lyon County School District as a teach and counselor. Jim will be using his free time for bike packing, flying his drone, working as a brand ambassador for Sierra Designs, and volunteering with the Friends of Nevada Wilderness. Jim's retirement doesn't include much free time! He enjoys photographing people, sports, landscapes, and the night skies.
