FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 26, 2020
CITY OF FERNLEY REMINDS RESIDENTS TO BE SAFE AND REPORT ALL SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY TO LYON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
Fernley, NV, March 26, 2020 – The City of Fernley would like to remind our residents to look out for your fellow community members. During uncertain times such as these, there has been an increase in concern about safety, especially with regard to vacant buildings, homes, and businesses. Fernley residents have demonstrated a wonderful ability to come together and look out for one another during previous times of crisis, such as the flood of 2008.
The City is asking residents to continue to stay home, stay safe, but also check in on your families, friends, and neighbors via phone, text, e-mail, and/or social media. If you see suspicious activity report it immediately to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office at (775) 463-6600. If you have concerns regarding the welfare of neighbors, buildings, etc. please contact the Sheriff’s Office or in case of an emergency, dial 9-1-1.
The City of Fernley expresses our appreciation for the community and to our residents who are following the Governor’s directives, practicing social distancing, staying home in order to keep Nevadans healthy and safe. For additional information or questions, contact the City Manager’s Office at (775) 784-9858.
