SCOPE OF SERVICES. General Description. Pursuant to Nevada Revised Statute 171.188, all indigent criminal defendants must be provided with effective legal representation at no cost to the defendant.
The Public Defender will provide legal representation for each of these defendants from court appointment or screening through trial, sentencing, and post-conviction review. The Public Defender, or subcontractor of the Public Defender, shall attend all hearings and trials involving defendants on whose behalf the Public Defender has been appointed, and will be available to talk with and meet, in person, with indigent defendants, at the Fernley Municipal Court, and/or a location in attorney’s firm.
