Hello Fernley, this is your Mayor, Roy Edgington with an important announcement related to the City’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. As you all know, we are going through an unprecedented time as a result of the pandemic. Following the Governor’s directive, the City of Fernley closed City Hall to the public on March 18th. The City has been closed for face-to-face business and all non-essential services since that time, however, we are still open for business.

All City Departments can be contacted over the phone or via e-mail. Please head to our website at www.cityofernley.org where you can find a list of department phone numbers and email contacts.

The City is working hard and taking great caution to continue to provide all key essential services to residents. Services such as water, sewer, maintenance of street lights. We have taken the Governor’s directive seriously, and we are listening to our medical experts – we are committed to providing social distancing and hope our residents will continue to practice these safe measures as well. Not only for yourselves, your neighbors, but for our employees as well. It is crucial that we keep our employees healthy, as they are necessary to continue to provide these critical services to our residents.

We understand that several of you may be experiencing financial hardships during this time. We have made a commitment to halt all utility shutoffs during this pandemic. If you are experiencing a financial hardship, please reach out to the Utility Department to discuss setting up a payment plan. They can be reached at (775) 784-9930 or utilbill@cityoffernley.org. Again, we are here to work with you, but we need you to reach out to us if you are experiencing a financial hardship.

The COVID-19 crisis is a rapidly changing situation. We ask our residents for their patience and understanding as the City continues to work through this unprecedented time in our history. Please take care of yourselves, remember to check on your neighbors, and those in need. The best thing we can do right now is stay home for Nevada. If you do need to venture out, please wear a mask, and if possible, gloves. Wearing a mask will help protect yourself and those around you.

We are all in this together, stay safe and stay healthy.
