Hello Fernley, this is your Mayor, Roy Edgington, and I am happy to announce that the 4th of July Fireworks will take place this year. I would like to thank City Staff, City Council, and the members of the Fernley 4th of July Committee who all worked very hard to make this happen for our citizens.
There will be some changes from years past, and it is imperative our citizens follow these directives so we can all enjoy this celebration.
As in previous years, the fireworks will be shot off at the Out of Town Park. They will go off at approximately 9:30pm depending on the wind and weather permitting.
The park/grassy area of the Out of Town Park will be CLOSED. Stay in your vehicles. No one is allowed on the grass section of the park. Parking needs to be spaced out with more room between cars to abide by social distancing guidelines.
Please remember fireworks are illegal in Lyon County. Let’s help our first responders out this year, please do not set off any fireworks. Come down to the Out of Town Park and enjoy the City’s annual fireworks show, and I ask you to please be respectful, follow the rules, and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
For more information or to learn how to volunteer for the event, go to the http://www.fernley-4th-of-july.com/.
Please remember the Fernley 4th of July Committee is a non-profit organization who is made up solely of community members who volunteer their time to put on this event annually for our citizens. The City is proud to provide funding for the 4th of July Event through our Fernley Convention Tourism Authority Board.
Thank you for your time, stay safe and stay healthy.
